One day John Wesly, one of the most famous theologian and philanthropist, was walking a long the streets of Oxford. It was during a deadly winter season that had claimed lives of hundreds. On his way he came across very beautiful flowers that caught his eyes. He decided to buy some to beautify his hostel room back in the university.
Hours later after decoration , he was on streets again. He came across this poor lady who was shivering desperately. She did not have good clothing to cover herself against catastrophic cold of the winter. Sympathy abruptly overwhelmed his heart. He was more than determined to do something to this lady. He needed to buy a warm cloth for her.

He reached out for his pocket to get some money. You know what! He did not have enough money. He had used most of his money to buy the pictures. This pained john a lot. He felt stings of sadness pierce his heart. For the first time he felt Gods voice speaking to him through this experience.
When he got to his room,he stared to the pictures he had bought. The image of the poor lady shivering in street came in his mind. He figured out the many people that had lost their lives during that winter season because pneumonia and this question came to him:
could these pictures be the blood of that poor lady?
My question to us is:
could your extravagance be at an expense of someone blood? Could the expensive lifestyle you hype in university be your parents blood sleeping hungry to oversee your academics? Could the deadly lies you say to rip your parents off their only cow, land and other property be at an expense of their lives? Could the expensive meal and the fuel guzzlers you cruise everyday be the blood of that poor boy in the village in need of two thousand shilling to fund his schooling. Could your expensive suits and phones be the blood of hat village laughing stalk that walks in rags? Could it.....could you expenditure be
someone blood? What if instead of buying that thirty thousand phone, you went for five thousand less the price to bless someone with the money? What if you cut down your expenditure to be a blessing to someone?
Know what! Wesly made a decision. He chose to live a simple life to bless others. He gave himself the limit of the much he required for a month and whatever went beyond the threshold,he used it to bless needy people. Surprisingly his income grew tremendously. The reason is simple. God loves a cheerful giver. Its a challenge to us.
